Ice maker micro switch plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the ice maker. Its main purpose is to control the operation of the ice maker by signaling the ice maker's control board when the ice maker bin is full or when the ice maker arm is lifted.
The micro switch for ice maker is typically located in the ice maker assembly and is triggered by the movement of the ice maker arm. When the ice maker bin is full, the ice cubes will push the arm up, which in turn activates the micro switch. The ice maker micro switch sends a signal to the control board to shut off the ice maker, preventing it from making more ice and avoiding overflowing of the ice bin.
Similarly, when the ice bin is empty or the ice maker arm is lowered, the micro switch for ice maker is released, and the control board signals the ice maker to start producing ice again.
